FLS is a leading supplier to the global mining industry, focusing on innovation, engineering and sustainability. Together with Make we created a bespoke sonic identity for FLS designed to translate the brand promise “Empowering the future of mining” into sound and music and bring the brand to life across multiple platforms.

A sound of technology, nature and progress

The sonic identity is built around the brand’s core duality: advanced technology and human impact. Using contemporary electronic music as a design language, processed instruments create a modern, layered and precise sound that communicates innovation and technological leadership while remaining clear, warm and accessible. 

At the heart of the identity sits the sonic logo: a short, distinctive signature built on a three-note melodic motif reflecting the letters F-L-S. Inspired by the shape of a growth curve and supported by three powerful beats, it delivers a confident, spacious and empowering expression that resolves on an open note - a sonic metaphor for FLS’s future-focused and sustainable ambition.
