After going through an extensive visual rebrand Bank of Ireland wanted to add a sonic dimension to their new brand identity. Therefore they asked Unmute to develop a complete sonic identity to audibly express the essence of this historic and iconic bank.

A sense of begin​

The creative concept took inspiration in the Bank of Ireland mantra “Begin” and through sound and music Unmute set out to interpret the word in a new way.

With a history going back more than 200 years Bank of Ireland always needs to balance its great legacy and its ambitions for being a modern financial institute. The new sonic identity works as a catalysts for this duality and both the sonic logo and the brand music refer to Irish tradition as well as the future of digital banking - now played out across multiple brand touchpoints.
