Nordisk Film is the oldest film company in the world still in operation. For decades, Nordic moviegoers have been welcomed by the iconic polar bear ident and a sweeping musical intro. When Nordisk Film launched their streaming service, Nordisk Film+, it was time to reimagine that sound. How do you take an epic piece of cultural heritage made for the grandeur of the cinema and adapt it for the digital age?

From cinema legend to streaming-ready sound

Streaming needs a different sound. Shorter. Sharper. Optimized for mobile playback. Yet it couldn’t lose the drama and emotional weight that made the original unforgettable.

 

We distilled the DNA of the classic ident into a new sonic identity. Recognizable, but ready for today’s platforms. That meant: A new sonic logo condensed, cinematic, and instantly recognizable. Brand music adaptable themes for use across trailers, campaigns, and digital touchpoints. Digital-first design optimized for everything from smartphones to home cinemas. 

 

All in all sonic branding that honors Nordisk Film’s legacy while moving it into the streaming era...as iconic in your pocket as it is on the big screen.
