Designing sound that saves lives

Unmute has created the product sounds and voice guide for Joule’s AED. A sonic branding system that enhances usability and adds an emotional layer to the product's identity. In the most stressful situations imaginable, maybe in noisy surroundings, the device’s sound design must calmly guide the user - sounding serious but not frightening, alerting but never alarming.

 

So to empower the user as much as possible each sound and voice prompt was crafted to communicate clarity and confidence. The result is a sonic identity that feels reassuring and intuitive, turning the device into a calm partner when every minute matters.
